Before joining Westchester Magazine as managing editor in 2023, Amy Sowder worked as a magazine editor in trade media for fresh produce, as a digital food media editor, and as a consultant with Food Network, Smitten Kitchen, and cookbook authors among other roles. Her articles, photos, videos, and social content have been featured in Bon Appétit, Women's Health, Men's Health, USA Today and its regional newspapers, Farm Journal, The Packer, Greatist, Chowhound, Verywell Fit, Eat This, Not That, and Brooklyn Magazine. You could find Amy doing anything from co-creating a fresh-produce professional training platform and hosting a podcast to managing editorial content and freelancers — almost always about food, fitness, and lifestyles topics. She’s especially passionate about cheese, dessert, running, books, and cats.
