Sebastian Oddo recognized that recent graduates were often left without the guidance they needed to navigate early career shifts, so he set out to create a practical way to close that gap. Oddo launched 0xdecodeyourself in 2025—a free “career clarity” platform that combines executive mentoring, a curated job board with open positions that’s updated three times a day, and access to free career resources. He works closely with the platform’s CEO and AI innovation lead Angel Oddo to support the next generation of innovators, Gen Z, and first-generation graduates. His goal is to provide practical advice instead of generic advice for those entering the workforce.
Sebastian Oddo’s Professional Background
With over 20 years as a marketing executive, Manhattanville University graduate (’07) Sebastian Oddo is the vice president of Brand Innovation at Mastercard. As the VP, Oddo leads emerging technology marketing across AI, Web3, and blockchain and has built award-winning campaigns that thrive at the cultural crossroads of tech and commerce.
“My work in innovation also means I can speak to emerging fields and help students think beyond traditional career paths,” Oddo shares.
Sebastian Oddo is an adjunct professor at Manhattanville University, a mentor with Girls Who Code, and a published author of Excuse Me, College is Now: How to Be a Success in School and Life, which is available on Barnes & Noble. He notes that his mentoring background, teaching experience, and authorship have helped him “understand the pressures that students face—academic, social, and existential—and how those intersect with career decisions.” Oddo is also a TedX speaker, an active mentor of programs like Girls4Tech and My Brother’s Keeper, and has been recognized as a Brand Innovators 40 under 40 and a LinkedIn Top Voice for Creativity and Innovation.

Inside the Online Platform
0xdecodeyourself offers four one-on-one, 60-minute mentoring sessions per month; monthly group sessions with eight to ten peers; and free career guides on resumes, interviews, negotiation, and networking. The initial call is a 15-minute discovery call that gets to know mentees and what they are looking for in terms of career discovery. “From there, we listen more than we talk. The goal is to help them understand whether structured coaching will serve them, and to give them a taste of what coaching with us feels like,” notes Oddo.
“The one-on-one sessions are bi-weekly or weekly depending on the engagement level. We tackle resume strategy, interview prep, salary negotiation, job search strategy, and the mindset shifts that actually lead to confidence and clarity,” shares Oddo.
The private coaching sessions offer guests full access to Sebastian Oddo’s network, resume review, portfolio and LinkedIn review, interview prep, mock sessions, negotiation sessions, and voice note feedback between sessions. The group sessions are for peers navigating the same career decisions, followed by a live Q&A session with Sebastian. The monthly group sessions are 90 minutes long, and peers have access to a shared resource library and resources.
An AI Assistant
Combined with Oddo’s mentoring background and teaching experience, Oddo’s AI assistant and CEO Angel tackles the day-to-day operations, community engagement, and a fresh perspective on how Gen Z thinks about work and purpose.
“We complement each other well: I bring strategic vision and decades of industry insight; she brings authenticity, digital fluency, and a genuine passion for helping out users. We’re building this together,” notes Oddo.
Looking Ahead
While the one-on-one coaching sessions remain the platform’s core offering, Oddo is also experimenting with group cohorts with specific challenges like pivoting careers after graduation or navigating interviews for industries like technology. He advises college graduates and individuals making a career pivot to find their “why,” foster meaningful relationships, and to avoid waiting for permission to make the next career move.
“Start small—take on projects, volunteer, build, create. The perfect job rarely exists; what matters is movement in the direction that feels right,” notes Oddo.
