The rumors are true: Trader Joe’s is making its way to Yonkers soon! Although Trader Joe’s didn’t confirm the exact opening date or location, the fan-favorite chain is expected to make an official announcement with exact details closer to its launch. This will mark Trader Joe’s fifth Westchester location, following other locations in Hartsdale, Larchmont, Scarsdale, and Yorktown. On a national level, there are over 600 Trader Joe’s store locations, with more stores coming soon.

“Yonkers is a vibrant community, and it’s been clear to us that for a long time that this city deserves a Trader Joe’s. We’re thrilled to bring a new store here and look forward to being a welcoming, friendly spot for our Yonkers neighbors to shop,” says regional vice president Sunshine Haven.

A New Store in a Big City

As New York’s third largest city and the largest city in Westchester County, it’s no surprise why the popular neighborhood grocery store chose Yonkers for its new planned destination. The Westchester city is now the largest film and TV production hub in the Northeast, with 10 active studios and more on the way.
